Ranch Experiences

We offer our ranch activities to any of our overnight guests interested in experiencing day-to-day life on a working ranch.

Trail rides

A guided trail ride through the beautiful San Benito backcountry.

We provide a safe and enjoyable trail riding experience where guests can learn to skillfully and safely ride a horse.

Our trail ride is not the usual “nose to tail” experience. Our goal is to give our riders a truly safe and enjoyable experience while enjoying views of the hills, river, and pastures of our ranch.

Arena rides

These exciting group horseback riding lessons in our scenic arena are given by a Certified Horsemanship Association instructor and will safely challenge riders of all ages and levels.

Come prepared to your lesson ready to exercise both your body and mind as we help you learn to communicate with your horse effectively.

Our instructors will tailor the lesson to the experience level of all riders- there is always something new we can teach you!

Ages 5 and up

Mustang experience

In this unmounted experience, you will meet a rescued American mustang and learn how we train wild horses.

This interactive experience offers the opportunity to learn about a wild horse's body language as well as your own. You will also learn how to work with and move a horse in the roundpen, which is a fundamental aspect of training any breed of horse.

By participating in this activity, you will contribute to our ongoing efforts to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome these American icons of the wild west.

Animal feeding

Guests will have the opportunity to meet, feed, and learn more about the many animals we care for every day on the ranch.

Enjoy time with mini donkeys, pigs, lambs, and rabbits while learning how to hold, touch, and be around some of our favorite ranch friends. You might even catch us with some kittens or baby goats!

All ages

BB Guns & Archery

Guests of all ages can learn the basics of marksmanship and archery. Our team creates a target range with hay bale targets so guests can either brush up on old skills or learn something new.

Ages 5 and up

1.5 hours

Minimum of 4 people per session, maximum of 8 people per session

Kids under 16 must be with an adult

Experiences are only available to overnight guests, and are subject to weather and availability.
Guests who stay overnight will receive a reservation confirmation email with links to view the experience calendar and book experiences available during their stay.

What experiences are included with my ranch stay?

You are always welcome to explore the available areas of the property at your leisure! Most of our experiences are available at an additional cost, and do require a sign-up. Experiences are not guaranteed to be available, and you’ll receive a link to book experiences after making your reservation. We're also located just a few miles from the East entrance of Pinnacles National Park, for those looking for some incredible hiking.

Will there be other guests during my stay?

Guests staying at the ranch also have the opportunity to sign up for all activities, so if your group does not have all of the ranch accommodations reserved, you might share some of your experiences with other guests. If you have a large group and would like your own private ranch experience, we do offer exclusive rentals. Contact us to learn more about weddings, large group rentals, corporate retreats, and other great event rentals.

Are kids allowed in the barn or around animals?

Because we are working ranch with horses, cattle, and other large animals, kids must be accompanied by an adult at all times for their safety.

Is there fishing on the ranch?

At this time, we don't have any fishing opportunities on the ranch.

Do you have a pool on the ranch?

Guests will have access to our section of the tree-lined San Benito River, which is great for some splashing, exploring, and water fun. If you rent the Ranch House, you will also have access to its pool (the pool is not heated, and we do not have a hot tub) and pool house. Please note that by making a reservation and agreeing to our terms and conditions, you are signing our pool waiver, and adult supervision of children is required at all times.

How close is the ranch to Pinnacles National Park?

We are 6 miles (12 minutes) from the east entrance of Pinnacles National Park.
